Application developers have launched more than 300 000 mobile applications in a little over three years, according to a new report from IDC.
In 2010, mobile applications is the passage of the smartphone media tablets. In 2011 and beyond, mobile apps can find their way in devices even more, including connected and, by extension, the House connected TVs.
IDC believes that the market for mobile applications will continue to accelerate as the number of downloaded applications should increase of 10.9 billion worldwide by 2010 to 76.9 billion in 2014. Revenue from mobile applications in the world will see similar growth, exceeding 35 billion in 2014.
"Mobile application developers will be 'appify' almost every interaction you can think of your worldwide physical and digital," said Scott Ellison, Vice President, mobile and wireless IDC research.
"The expansion of mobile applications for all aspects of our personal and business lives be one of the features of the new decade with enormous opportunities for virtually every business sector."
